romanced davrin
( city elf, not dalish )
opted for humorous answers at the beginning of the game, trailing off into hopeful ones with those she's come to care for and stalwart confident ones when talking about serious topics that require a firm hand over a gentle one. proud crow; adopted into her house at age six after being given up by her parents who were unable to continue to care for her and wanted her to have a chance for a better life than the one they were able to provide. holds no resentment towards her parents, but also holds no interest in finding out who they were.
warm, friendly, and prone to acting on impulse rather than considering long term consequences. she takes to leadership easier than she thought she would, and openly admits to stepping up to bat because someone must. “whatever it takes,” whatever the cost, so long as they can stop solas.
character hooks: "hey rook, you kill people are you actually going to be any good at saving them"
opinions of companions:
bellara - sweet, though roping nels into discussions of the elven gods as if she has much experience with dalish traditions and customs is odd in her opinion. encouraged her to release the spirit.
emmrich - delighted by his attentive care and concern for the dead in a way that is vastly different than her own profession leads her to be. flirted with him through open appreciation for him and his magic, but ultimately felt more of an attraction to davrin. their close friendship continued, however, and she found herself often visiting him to learn more about magic and nevarran customs towards the dead. encouraged him to save manfred.
davrin - flirted early and often, found common ground about 'hunting' and showed interest in learning the difference between hunting monsters and being an assassin. she understood his attitude towards the dalish - she too knew that if she was born into a dalish clan she wouldn’t have been happy. didn't coddle assan but kept a gentle hand, and encouraged davrin to let the griffons go to arlathan forest. opted for a future of adventuring with him and assan.
harding - fast friends. encouraged her exploration of her magic without viewing it as a threat (because stone magic isn’t the same as magic magic, obviously). reminded harding that she isn’t alone, encouraged her and taash to have a relationship, and assigned harding to lead the second group. oops.
taash -
lucanis - crow bros. while how a non-mage could be possessed has made her on edge about his deal with spite, had a (unsupported) belief that should she have to she could kill him if the worst came to pass. this faded with time and trust. always making jokes about being an assassin and growing up as a crow. encouraged him to forgive his cousin.
neve - went from friendly to antagonistic back to friendly and respectable. neve's grief about her city and blaming nels for abandoning 'her' city did not go down well with nels, who opted to save her city. never softened neve; neve vowed to protect dock town at any cost.
solas - solas when she FUCKING GETS YOU. came to find their verbal sparring fun, but also enjoyed being a pain in his side. did, stupidly, feel betrayed when he did the thing everyone was telling rook he was going to do. still helped him reunite with the inquisitor b/c alright solas, fine. go be happy but go do it somewhere where you can't fuck up this world.
